Safe Room Rebate Information
July 2017, Texas Storm Shelter, is very active in various storm shelter rebate programs, we are prepared to supply all needed documentation to fulfill your obligations for a speedy reimbursement. The program acceptance takes place in January and July. Since this is a rebate program, you will need to pay for the total cost of your safe room out-of-pocket, typically this safe room rebate program is not retroactive, but i have seen some counties that allow for reimbursement after installation, please check with your local FEMA office. In preparation for the July 2017 rollout of the North Central Texas Safe Room Rebate Program, we have contacted those at the top of each county’s waitlist and those that submitted a signed Floodplain Verification Form and proof of homeownership will receive an award packet July 10. They will have until January 10, 2018 to install a safe room and submit all required documents. There were 357 rebate opportunities released for this roll out.
Reminder: the program is not retroactive. Any safe room under contract or installed before the receipt of an official award packet does not qualify for a rebate. Please also note that the grant guidance has changed and the ATSA/NSSA installer designation is no longer needed. Installers will now use the new TDEM Certificate of Installation (attached) that will have to be signed by the installer and notarized.
